I am Dale.

7 time champion, the second of only 3 drivers to ever win that many championships.

Dale was the 3rd driver of 7 to ever win rookie of the year (1979) and follow up with a national championship the following year (1980).

In 27 years racing in the NASCAR Cup series he had 676 starts, 76 wins, 281 top five finishes, 428 top ten finishes, ran 202,888 laps, had 22 poles, led 25,684 laps, and earned over 42 million dollars in purse money.

In 1985 I saw him race at Seattle International Raceway in Kent, Washington, at a NASCAR West series event. Dale was brought in as a ringer to drive for Bill Schmitt racing. He won the race.

There is much more, but it is time for breakfast.

So man-crush?

No.

Admiration and respect?

More than can be measured.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday evening when I was texting with my daughter in Colorado.
She and hubby were up in the mountains on a trip to Idaho Springs from their home near CO Springs, and I was on my deck in Missouri.
It was painful for old dad when they moved out there last year, but technology has let me be in touch with her pretty much at any given moment.
Sending photos back and forth is an added bonus.
I was never really a text person, but I have one friend who I communicate all the time via WhatsApp (better than standard messaging app I think because I can use online as well) ........it can suck time so fast though frequently I realise we have been having a conversation for several hours when i realise its 3 am . its not as nice as face to face but it is a great communication method

I'm not into racing that much, so my pick would have to be Muhammad Ali - 56 wins- 5 losses- 37KOs He maintained himself as honorable, a gentleman, and a credit to the sport of boxing....which is not a common trait in that sport. Certainly I would give honorable mention to George Foreman, also a credit to mankind and the sport of boxing.....and a fine grilling talent too!

Regards!

Yep, it is grilling. When Bob agrees to face down George and call him a "cheat" we can refer to it however Bob likes!

The Butcherman has one of these Foreman grills in his shop and sometimes when I come in for a rush order to take home a few cooked burgers, he will "grill" them up for me. Truth is, they are pretty damn decent! Sure, I'd take Bob's over them any day, but if Bob isn't handy, these work just fine!

Regards!

I like the Otis attitude!

"Anything that is easy works fine for me too!"

I watched him come second in the '93 Daytona 500. (Several crashes that year) Great racer.

Yeah, it may be thought of as an overgrown panini press, but in the sleeper of Monstro it was the best option to grill up a nice juicy steak.

Or a pork chop.

Or a boneless chicken thigh.

Or a nice salmon fillet.

Yep. The Foreman grill made living in a 8 x 6 foot box almost like home.

Oh yeah.
