This year we brined the turkey for 24 hours first.
It was the best turkey I've ever had.
The brine and spices permeate the meat rather than just laying on the surface. Not enough ms in mmmmm to describe it.
Now I'm hungry again. I think I'll go make a sammich.

Actually we used to have a really mean turkey who would attack anyone. Needless to say, he found his way into the pot in the end.

Talcum powder.
Talc doesn't last for 125 miles when it's 85F and you're sweating heavily. There are other possible complications that make it a very good idea to wear clothing designed for the job. The perineum is involved.

Why am I being coy? I'm not sure what the forum rules say about discussing your naughty bits.

Perineum is perfectly acceptable.
"crotch" isn't.

Oops.

I'd rather talk turkey than sweaty perineums.
The loose lycra and talc were jokes Richard.

Nope, no boiling; but it turned out really good anyway.

But we did come home with enough leftovers to feed us well into next week.

And my perineum doesn't hurt a bit.

Drug all the Christmas stuff up from the basement today. Three trips with the hand truck.

I should have put in a dumbwaiter when I built this place.

Got the tree up, and decided I needed a break before stringing the lights.

Just having a quick cup of hot cocoa, complete with seasonal attitude additives, and thought I'd check in.

This part of Christmas gets me all worked up. Sometimes it even feels like it did when it still had the magic.

Anyway, cocoa is gone, time to get the lights up.

BFN.

In our neck of the woods, we get our tree down when it comes time for that.
