Bismillah

My thoughts go out to Rupert and his family and friends. He is a good example of doing what you love up until the last minute. May he continue to live long in our hearts and minds.

Does anyone have the address? I mailed something to Rupert last year, but I cannot locate the address. I would really like to send a card.

I just saw the sad news and I really do not have the right words for times like this.

I just know that I will miss him and wish that we could have maybe met somehow ... That would have been nice.

My best thoughts to his family at this moment.

Adieu mon ami, adieu.

As others have noted, not entirely a surprise. But dammit anyway, still sad to hear. RIP Jim, may the spirit of Rupert live on!

One of Otis' minions grabbing lunch (I like to make them work at least a little bit for it). Maybe it'll cheer up Otis.

Fair enough. Over here it would be illegal to give it out without explicit permission.

The other idea of the funeral home would work. The link to them was in Mark's message to us a dy or so ago, I believe I recall, and also in a quote of that message.

I tried to leave a condolence message at the funeral home, but got an error message to say that I might have missed a field (I didn't) or might have sent the message too soon (what?). Hmmm! How hard is it to build a functioning website? My message:

I was deeply saddened when I got the news that Jim had died. I knew him through the Pentax forum and loved his mischievous and generous nature. One of the good guys.

Dear Gail, I'm sorry for your loss. Jim's frequent posts featuring "Mrs Rupert" made me feel that he was he was a lucky guy to have you as his wife.

It's just passed 6:00pm on Saturday here on the east coast of Australia and it's time for a drink or two, sitting on the deck, looking out over the Pacific Ocean and contemplating life, the universe and Texas cooking. Jim will not be forgotten.

The problem is that the funeral home website limits posting from IP addresses outside of the USA. Gail will see your post, especially if you leave it here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/132-pentaxian-lounge/357957-rip-rupert.html
