I keep hoping here. It was snowing 50 miles away from here yesterday, and only 5 miles away in the mountains, yet rainy here, and 33°.

This morning it is clear, and 25°.

No snow, just a frosty glaze everywhere, reminiscent of a glazed jelly donut.

I was a bit surprised when I let pooch out this morning.
The weather guesser said we would get rain changing to wet sloppy snow with some "hamster size flakes."

We've had snow in Munich on and off since late November, and daytime highs mostly around freezing. But just in time for Christmas temperatures have risen to 4 - 8 °C

-20 °C (-4 °F) here, reasonably cold I think maybe it's time to turn on the heating (light the stove) this year?
Not much snow on the ground, just a dusting (about half a foot).

Temperature's fluctuating around 0°C, eating away at what little snow we have. Look like we'll have a white Christmas around here anyway, though. Just. Luckily we celebrate on the 24th rather than the 25th, so one day less for the mild weather to do its work.

We celebrate on the Eve, as well as the Day.

Lots of time for consumption for Christmas Cheer.

We had a dusting 2 days ago.
The only good snow is snow that is too light to need shoveling. I haven't had to pick up a shovel yet this year.

I phrased that badly. We celebrate all week, but the 24th is the big day with presents and all that. The main aim of the Christmas week is to put on enough weight that it will take the next 51 weeks to get it off again. I think

We have much the same view on winter, I think, you and I. And yeah, the shovel is still in the basement. I'm in no hurry to bring it out.
