Personally I have never really understood the attraction of sticking fishhooks in your face, but hey, it's 2017.

Thanks Bob, the members in this thread are verrrryyyy helpful.
We try.
In fact, Mrs. Parallax, for years, has told me that I'm very trying.
I suspect that Bob has heard something akin to that from Mrs. Bob.

Does Mrs. Parallax know Mrs. pjv Jim? They sound very similar mate, unless it is in CHAPTER 2 of the " wives " handbook.

Personally I don't quite like the look...
I think this will stick to with wearing a suit:

And this for everyday wear:
I know you like the flat cap but I find them too narrow, the brim too short and rain and snow fall down my neck

I wear tweed from September to april...I do try to find the widest possible
I've worn them since the summer of 1969
a girlfriend gave me a huge purple one with electric blue stars
I was lifeguarding that summer and burned every day...it kept my nose tan not red

I wore it to real work one day...the black guys liked it, the old white guys hated it
a fellow I rode with sometimes attached union pins to all the stars and everything was copacetic after

Just about bedtime here. Tomorrow will be a long day. The pinnekjøtt will take quite some time to prepare.

Describe that which begins with p... please.

What's your definition of a proper hat?
Baseball caps look stupid, toques are too casual, my fedora is too formal, and my swiss military hat doesn't quite cut it for everyday wear:
This is a proper hat

I wear something like this most days

You need protection from the sun.

Oops, skipped a "not" there... I definitely go for specialised hats.

Pinnekjøtt is racks of mutton smoked, cured, and dried. A method of preservation, obviously. Prior to cooking, the individual ribs are cut from the racks, then soaked in cold water for 8-24 hours (depending on the saltiness) before being steamed for about 4 hiurs.

Served with mashed swede, boiled potatoes, beer and akevitt.

Bon appetit!

I get the same thing from Mrs. Racer.
