Of course the French have nothing on the Canadians when it comes to trying to get people to stop using tobacco.

It's nice to be inside (even if it's only 13°C)...
Back from an hour and a half skinny-ski ski in a snowstorm at -20°C wearing just lycra and a windbreaker layer...

Yep, I can relate. I spent the afternoon watching "Jason and The Argonauts" and the excellent 2002 remake of "Goodbye Mr. Chips", wearing just my PJs and a dressing gown... Sometimes, you've got to push the envelope, right?

We attended a funeral this afternoon.
The pastor cut the graveside service fairly short due to the 14 F temp.
Mrs Bob, sitting in her chair, just wrapped up in a second blanket trying to thaw out.

Oh my, sorry to hear that, Bob. Funerals are hard enough, but that's worse still

Thanks Mike.
I was thinking at the time, I hope I go during nice weather.

Just found out today that Diane, the wife of a work colleague who helped me an awful lot when I had an out-an-out "fallout" with my manager at a company in 2006, had died a few months ago. Hadn't had an Xmas card from them for years, but then one arrived from him yesterday and I found later out today that she had died, and so I will be getting in touch with him in the next few days and will go and visit him if that's OK with him. "Stuff" happens but we have to get over it and go forward.

Sorry to hear that. Funerals are no fun as it is, cold weather doesn't help. Graveyards tend to be rather windy as well...

No matter when I go I think I'll request having my ashes spread on the fjord on a nice summer's day. Nobody gets cold - and there will be no grave that the kids have to tend.

Umm, that is, I hope I get around to making that request before I go or I might freak somebody out...

my batcrap crazy sister wrangled the urn from its original custodian
