On one of my visits to the US I saw a bumper sticker saying "I'm Norwegian and I'm humble".
Around here there are a lot of bumper stickers that read:

UF DA!

I cross that bridge on my commute by the shortest route to work. Now there is a pub there, called The Swan (just like many other pubs around the area), and a narrow, humped bridge over the river, a house by the bridge which was probably a toll house in the long distant past, and a concrete bunker that looks like it dates to WWII. In the late 1930s the RAF was looking for a site for a base in the area and one candidate site was between Clanfield and Radcot Bridge. When they went to look at the site there was some inundation so they chose the other candidate site, Brize Norton, still in active service. The field near Radcot Bridge are often very wet with some standing water on the surface.
You should share some photos of this place.

Around here that's a common part of everyday conversion.

Bumper stickers are pretty rare here nowadays.
I like these:

I should.

Must take the camera along with me on the way to work. I think the current bridge is newer than the battle, but it is old.

Today:
England first innings: all out/346.
Australia first innings: 7/649 declared (on day 4).
England second innings: 3/59, chasing the 303 to make Australia bat again.

Geoffrey Boycott complimenting the Australian play of test cricket as it should be - patient building huge totals that demoralise the opponents. And also having real pace bowlers. The commentators are now asking if the England selectors should have rotated players through the team to overcome complacency. As at time of writing.

Now England at 4/69. The English call that 69/4 because they cannot face up to the cost in batters of getting the runs. Progress is good for the day's play.

The weather in Sydney, where the cricket is, is rather warm. In the western suburb of Penrith it has got to 47.3C. Near the city centre, near the cricket, and on the coast side of the ridge along which the Pacific Highway goes it got to 43.4C.

Real estate east of the Pacific Highway is more expensive than to the west because this temperature disparity is common.

And at stumps 4/93, 210 behind, with one day to play.

The most likely result is Australia win, followed by draw which, given no rain forecast for tomorrow, is most unlikely. Almost impossible for England to win, although mathematicians would be able to come up with scenarios in which that could happen.

My oldest son is career Air Force active reserves. His hobby and side business is saddle making and leather work.
I thought I'd show off the saddle bags he made for a customer.
The guy wanted a holster built in for his .38 special.

The look and feel of hand tooled leather has always impressed me. I did leather work in shop class in middle school. Made some belts, and a couple of wallets.

Fun stuff.

beautiful work!

were those pommel bags or saddle bags...did he say?

"horse" pistols were often carried on the pommel or in a bag
last year I saw a setup that was a smallish bag on one side and the flapped holster on the other
the dealer was saying it was original
