Originally posted by tim60 Bakers, the butchers (funny names people choose for businesses here) and Waitrose had Haggis on sale today at heavily discounted prices. What's more, they looked like they were in a gut, not a tidy sausage skin, but the ingredients did not seem to indicate real sheep gut skin.
Most of the haggis in English supermarkets is in synthetic "skin" (casing). Wish I could find one locally in proper sheep's gut.
I'm a regular buyer of "Simon Howie Original" and "Macsween" (both good, but quite different) and recently bought an Aldi "Macaulay" brand to try... will report back
All are in synthetic skins, though
