The only way.
At about 12 years old we moved to Oregon in preparation for my dad retiring from the Navy. For 3 months we lived in the pickup camper parked at the farm of a family he grew up with near Stayton. There was a huge garden near the farmhouse, with lots of ta mata plants, loaded with big, juicy ta matas.
I spent a good deal of time each day sitting among the plants, with a salt shaker, picking those juicy red orbs and chomping them down. Fortunately there were lots of them, and the lady of the house never complained of my gluttony.
I ate so many that I had cankers in my cheeks.
