He could. But he would need to be king first in order to abdicate. And he has no reason to abdicate, so it would be a highly unlikely scenario.

As far as I know Washington has never required safety inspections as a condition for registration.
We have to get a safety inspection done before selling a vehicle. The 'roadworthy certificate' from that goes to the new owner.

There aren't any more inspections until that vehicle's sold again, or a teenager annoys a policeman enough that they issue a defect notice.

He can. He might have done it like his great uncle did in the 1930s to marry a divorced woman like Camilla, but that's all thankfully changed since then.

He is a strange cat, the Netflix series The Crown gives some hints why.

actually it is Charles's son, due to be married, next month who is doing the same as King Edward VIII did - marrying an American divorcee

but his love was twice divorced by the time she married him, Harry's love has only been divorced once

Camiila was an English divorcee I believe

Yep, again, this wouldn't have been allowed in the 1930s.

The reason was ostensibly religious ... the monarch of Britain is also the equivalent of pope of the Church of England (that's why the coronation is done by an archbishop, not a politician), doctrine back then was that divorce was a sin, and the family needs royal permission to go through with a scandalous marriage.

Queen Elizabeth felt she couldn't give it to her own sister Princess Margaret in the 1950s - permanent scars out of that one!

Markle is American, divorced, black and very much has a common background (her family's a freakshow!), so it's great to see the March of Progress.

Not politics or religion - We're talking about British law. The Queen, by virtue of being Queen, is also the leader of the Church of England. Or, as the law says: ‘Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England’.
The only way Prince Charles could avoid being crowned King, would be to denounce his religion.

Yeah, but no matter how sensible we might be about it, once we start, some other nutter might join in, so I can see Racer's point. It's a pretty common rule in forums.

Last time I checked, a church is where religious stuff happens.
