Good thing that even in retirement I still get up with the chickens.
I usually get up around 2am these days.

Today I got up just after midnight to start work a couple hours earlier.

I’m looking forward to retirement. Three years, three months, one week, four days,

Or sooner if I can get the mortgage paid off.

Pinto beans cooked with bacon, and fried taters cooked with onions for dinner tonight.
No pics, so no gas.

I have been playing previous career Racer the last few days. 920 miles driving on Monday. Only 780 today and tomorrow only about 500 by the time I am done. Meeting Aslyfox for dinner in Gardiner, MT. We will both be carrying K3's.

In our radio news this morning, it was reported that Britain is in the grips of a "heat wave".

"Meteorologists reckon highs could reach 20C in north-east England by Tuesday, with highs up to 19C elsewhere."

Stay strong folks. Make sure you slap on the sunscreen and stay well hydrated. We're thinking of you.
I dug out my skiing long johns and tracky dacks a couple of weeks ago because our daytime highs were getting down to 20C. It's adaptation.

Coffee at our place is made with a moka pot, can be found for $30-odd new, or pocket change at a thrift store.
It's more common in Europe than here (that's where we discovered it) but it makes good coffee.
It works by pushing high-pressure steam through the grounds to form a very strong brew.

Totally unintentional.

Use a motorbike, one of the half neutered ones they use in those cycling races in a velodrome where the cyclist chases the motorcyclist.

Here that is definitely a heat wave.

The English blokes take off their shirts and run around displaying their pastey white beer bellies, getting sunburned, and exclaiming it is too hot. And the sweat is quite visible upon their brows, kind of like singers at concerts.

I got one of a different design (different brand) but it was hard to learn to use properly because the instructions that came with it were all in Chinese, which I find a bit hard to read, especially when written on paper where GoogleTranslate is of no avail. Once I got it worked out it has been good.
