But, Queen's Birthday is always celebrated on the first Monday in June.
And gives us a public holiday.
Yet in Canada the Queen's birthday is May 24, pronounced "the May two-fer". Two-fer" is pronounced the same as a two- fer, a 24 pack of beer, which is required for entrance to May two-fer parties all over Canada. it's confusing to expatriate yanks but intuitive to my Canadian children. They say "the May two-fer" without blinking. I still have to pause and consider the options.
If you mention "the Queen's Birthday, you get a puzzled look> "read your calendars you dimwits, we aren't celbating packs of beer, We are celebrating the birth of our queen, even though most of us deny her existence. NASA pays an actor to play her. They have to, to prove Australia exists.
Funny how one woman can have all those birthdays.
