It certainly looks like one however the Lord Strathcona's website (the tank belongs to their historical vehicle troop) sates that it is a Sherman M4A3E8, or the Canadian 'Easy 8' variant.

A place I worked at some years back used Pig Products. Absorbents, epoxy putty, etc.
