Anybody ever have this problem when working on their car? Imagine opening the hood (bonnet) of your car and finding this staring at you. This is a timber rattler. Once almost extinct in New York but they have made quite a comeback.
So it wasn't noisy tappets afterall

Umm. Note to MAF: This post and indeed almost everything in this thread is said in jest. At no time do I advocate smuggling stuff into New Zealand. I know we don't have any snakes here. Or squirrels. Or chameleons.

They do seem to get a bit agitated about stuff smuggled.

And in Australia too. Even if you are some ill behaved neuveau riche Hollywood actor, or said actor's missus.

24 of June, San Giovanni a.k.a. St John, the patron saint of Florence, big firework show.

DIY fireworks, or only the official city show?

Because there is not one referring to jet fuel.

And yes, I know the difference. Napalm is gasoline (petrol) based. Definitely smells different.

Here's an allusion to a famous bit of literature from my work: "What has't thou been doing brother? Failing students."

Why would one do that?

Nope, I would definitely want to keep it chambered in the original .303

First rifle I used was a lee Enfield, reworked to be a .22. Kind of heavy. Army cadets. Saved the government money on ammunition.

I learned something new this evening. There is a South Korean version of Godzilla!!!!! The monster's name is Yongary. I don't understand how I managed to miss this. Watching it now on Comet TV. Looks like Godzilla with a rhino horn.

Yes they are. In the states, some have even been converted to .410 shotguns.
Is it the North Korean Version? Pul Ga Sa Ri? Saves the village?

After nearly 24 hours, a shave, shower and a change of clothes, I still smell like jet fuel.

Some strong stuff.
You probably should drink less of it, then.

I bet beer is much healthier.

Admittedly you don't necessarily smell too good they day after a beer binge either.

And might not feel too well, wither.

What one does to stay healthy, eh.

Yep, it's a perfectly practical rifle. My brother's got one. With that long nasty spike bayonet.

Makes hunting elephant much more exciting, I'm sure. If you're not a good shot you'd better be a fast reloader

I love gonig to the mountains. But not in winter. And not with too much to carry. Those places tend to be rather steep, I've noticed.
