He said Oregon was the prettiest state he had ever been in.
Washington and British Columbia are dead even with Oregon when it comes to natural beauty.

Washington also has the rain forest on the Olympic Peninsula, a must see too.

I went to the dentist for the first time last month since 2013. Unfortunately, in 2013, my regular dentist died and I could not muster up the courage to go to a new dentist.

Anyway, my new dentist is a fellow road cyclist and very good at both cycling and dentistry. And happy to report that the 5 years of not going to the dentist did not result in any expensive repairs being needed.
I had the same dentist from when I was 14 until he retired about 10 years ago. He sold his practice to a nice young woman who is almost as good at dentistry as he was.

Yes, one of my overused words too. Here, a variation of "cool" is "cool bananas".
Cool beans, man.

And women know pain that no man can even imagine.

Childbirth.
Kidney stones, impacted wisdom teeth, ear infections where your eardrums burst and injuries to certain naught parts come pretty close. Only no reward afterwards. At least after my eardrums burst and all the blood and puss drained out the pain was gone.

I had an aunt tell me that she had gas pains that were worse than any labor pain she ever felt. Did she inadvertently let out a sisterhood secret to me?

thinking about beer

a social group I belong to had to stop playing soft ball

they put a keg at 2nd base and no one would advance farther, even if they had hit a home run

and the short stop and 2nd baseman would not play their normal positions, both were within a foot or two of the keg

Been a while since I've seen that, thanks for posting it.

Steve Martin always makes me laugh.
Yes, funny man. I remember in "The Jerk", the letter he sent home to his black family. " I think next week I'll be able to send some more money as
I may have extra work. My friend Patty promised me a ____ job"
