now that the distraction called the World Cup is over, at least for the men, perhaps we should mention that MLB has reached it's traditional " half way point " -

the All Star Break

despite the fact that the teams have played more than 50 % of their regular season ( 162 games ) with the Phillies, Cubs and Dodgers leading their respective divisions and the Red Sox, Indians and Astros leading the junior league

[ best record in the National League, best record in the American League and MLB ]

hit it boys ( and gal )

[ btw the slow fat guys play catcher ]

This was sixty years ago, but I still remember.
Funny how some things stick out in you mind so well....I remember being woken up early in the morning when our new neighbours moved in; I was like 3

Yes, a S'Klallam name. It supposedly means "a place for going to shoot".

Mark, you can ban yourself for thinking that thought.

Good place to hunt, they say it was.
How do you pronounce S'Klallam?

Can't wait for these to hit the stores.
Meat on the bottom, mayo on the top.

Sequim, Washington, located on the Northeast corner of the Olympic peninsula, is a small town. Situated adjacent to the Olympic Rain Forest, Sequim has the lowest rainfall in the state, lower than the more arid high desert regions of Eastern Washington.

Sequim sits in a rain shadow, nestled at the foot of the Olympic mountains.
Thanks Marlin ;-)

Merci encore ... and did I mention that the French defense drove me nuts?!

Plus the midfield got crushed ... lots of possession time for the French.

Almost threw my beer bottle at my mother-in-law's TV a couple of times.

And did you see what Lloris did ... !?

And Giroud should never take the field again ...

I could go on and on ... but it's hard to argue against success.

Allez les Bleus !!!
Beer? What, you didn't have a nice bottle of Blue Nun open?

The Cardinals will start the second half with an interim manager after firing Matheny Saturday night.
They had dropped 6 in a row, and are 7 back of the much (around here) hated Cubs.
They won yesterday with the interim at the wheel.

Be sure to warm it up and melt some Velveeta into it. It will probably make both of them taste better.
