You wouldn't stand a chance, mate. Nobody is humbler than me. Nobody! Not even my fellow humble Norwegians. We are simply the best. And humblest.

Do find a spot and share.

Here's a very iconic location.
Lovely spot, with our without a beached barge in the foreground.

Ooops...

Well, it's a view I never tire of.

That's a verb I haven't seen before It's a brilliant way of finding a home away from home, though.

Nice! Had a few cow-wows on our hikes. I was sent first to clear the way as the others weren't too comfortable around our bovine friends. A few mooted words were enough to get them to move calmly off the path.

how many people, regardless of age, know how to properly use a paper map ?

how to orient it so it shows your true direction of travel

how to use the magnetic declination guide to make a map accurate

how to read/use the distance scale

how to use/read a contour map

personally, it is always hard for me to read one of those but after a while, it can become clear

this might be of interest to some

Magnetic Declination

or not
No sane person would go hiking in the mountains without a proper paper map. We use electronic maps and GPS as well, but would go nowhere without a map and compass. As you say, no battery to go flat on you.

Besides, maps are great for planning the trip.

You have to drink the sample to find out.

Only the stupid will.

I think I see a Chevy though.
Not likely. The roads are too narrow

Quite by accident we drove a very narrow, winding, and steep(!) road up to a place catering mainly for hikers. It was "interesting" when meeting a couple of other cars there. Let's just say I was somewhat more familiar with our rental when we were back down than I was before we started

Even more unlikely than seeing a Chevy. I suspect few here would even recognise the brand.
