Our house is only heated by wood, started being built in early 2000s, and still not fully finished.
What’s the holdup?

Only took six months to build my house.

The Expos left and the Jays stink, can't blame you for not wanting one.
And it's baseball...sorry but only golf (and perhaps lawn bowling) is more boring to watch on TV. Actually, I far prefer golf

Racer's back, prepare for a hurricane of posts.
Around 9 am someone came through the shop yelling, “Evacuate!” repeatedly.

So we all dropped what we were doing and evacuated.

Turns out it was only a drill.

Guess we will work some overtime today.

We're building it ourselves, it's a straw bale house.
Not much left to do, stairs inside, some interior work (a few walls left), and then the outside porch and deck.

Yeah, I know. For some reason my slave master employer gets upset if I appear too drunk at work.

Yeah, well, as much as I can complain about work I wouldn't really want to be without.

Unless I could afford to

Evacuating because of a dropped drill is how Dave will read that.

Not a very efficient stove without one.

The way it works doesn't require one.

When I was really young we lived in the country and had an oil burning stove in the living room to heat the house.
In the winter we would warm Sears & Roebuck catalogs by it and place them under the quilts at the foot of our beds.
Felt real good for a little while.
My grandpa used to heat bricks on the stove, then place them on the floorboards of his Model A to keep warm while driving to town.
