I think it is film and not entirely sure what size. I will know more next week when she goes back to school

Sorry, I've started taking pictures instead - after three months of almost no pictures at all. Too long, that is, too long.

Hail bacon!

before returning home from our steam train excursion to eat our rare bone in Ribeyes, SWMBO and I stopped for some crispy cheese fries covered in shredded bacon for a snack. Amazing! We loved the name of the place, since it specialized in seafood, the name was "Fishlips." Too bad it was the last day of the season for them yesterday.

Not sure you recognised my suggestion that large format camera refers to a large phone instead of a littler one.

I got it.

The sad thing is that the younger set would think it is true.

Portland International Raceway is a 1.9 mile road course. Races there are either timed, as in the club races I enter which are 30 minutes, or for a given distance, which is scheduled to be 105 laps for the Indy Car event.

On a related note, the extremely passionate Tifosi are ecstatic in Monza today, as the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen are on the front row for the Italian Formula 1 race.

Go Ferrari!
"Had to" watch the race because I was with friends...
An individual who openly lowers his pace in order to block an opponent at the cost of losing a position himself cannot be defined a "driver" nor a "pilot", IMHO.
He was also dumb enough to admit that in the post-race interview...
Someone from the '80s would have died before committing such a thing.

More likely they would have died because they committed that sin and were run into the barriers.

Or would have tried an impossible - and perhaps completely unnecessary - overtake, and lost their life in the process.
But their attitude and style were grand, not petty.

@LensBeginner

Had the positions been reversed, i.e. Kimi in front of Botas and with Vettel closing up fast, I think that Ferrari would have "told" Kimi to hold up Botas until Vettel could "strike" and probably win the race - that's how team orders work nowadays (and have done for a long time since radio comms between the cars and the pits were introduced!)!

As it was, Vettel was a long way behind (due to his own "****up at the 2nd chicane on the 1st lap!) and it was Lewis that was closing on Kimi (whose tyres were pretty "shot" by that point, BTW), and it was important to Mercedes (as it would have been for Ferrari, had the situation been reversed!) for Lewis to try to win the race if possible, for the points in both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' World Titles.

As for it having been "different" in the "old days", there are many well-documented instances of drivers being told to hold up opposing drivers - and, in "extreme circumstances" even stopping and letting the lead drivers take over their cars in order to win races/championships (in the days when that was allowed)!

OTOH, I would have been rather pleased if Kimi had actually won because he deserves better results than has been the case over the last few years at Ferrari - having been "told" many times to move over to let Vettel through (shades of the infamous "Fernando is faster than you" comment from the Ferrari pit to Felipe Massa some years ago!).

Yes, "money talks", but so do the skills of the drivers, and, on that basis, there wasn't much to choose between Kimi and Lewis today.
