finally today they will be replacing the complete unit, gonna cost $5250.
That's good news, except for the cost, not sure how you survived those temps this summer.
We don't have our estimate yet, he said ballpark of $3,600, compressor alone would be about $1,300.
edit to add, we're all electric.

Temps in the mid 60's this morning, the house has cooled down to 77, I had a couple of doors wide open for awhile.
The rain has almost stopped, it started yesterday evening and continued through the night.
The gauge is pulled up in its holder, that's 5" and it was still raining.

On another note; I know this is originally "why I wont buy a K3" thread.......there is a sweet, low shutter count, K3,w/grip in mint condition sitting in the pawn shop just creaming out to me to buy it, however I am waiting for the price to come down a bit further and then I will pounce on it with a ridiculous offer....
I'll wait for Bertwert to come along and set you straight on this matter.

Yup Vegas.....and not THAT pawnshop.
I've driven by that pawnshop and they always have a big line to get in, plus I hear they charge

Sounds Iike you got a good deal, how many tons is it, mine is a 4 ton package rooftop unit (so it needed a crane, more $$$) and it is both gas and electric.
Ya it really sucked the last two months in this heat but we adjusted, the upstairs unit was working great though so we were comfortable at night.
I actually got a good price for Vegas, seeing as most folks are averaging $10000 for a 4 ton rooftop package unit, however I work construction and have connections .....

Wellp, same ol' same ol' around here. Grumbling, carping, bacon, grilling, car-related stuff, more bacon, an excursion into the fringes of the forbidden wastelands of politicrap, and maybe somebody won that K-somethingorother finally. Gone for a whole week, and damn that's a lot to read (or skim thru...)

In the meantime, the Missus and I have been bringing joy to the hearts and minds of Alaskans - wherever our cruise ship went this past week, the skies became blue and sunny and warm enough for shorts and tee-shirts. Juneau, Glacier Bay, Sitka, Ketchikan - all lovely days when we arrived. The universe demanded a price, though. When climbing off of a "sea cycle" in Ketchikan Thursday and making sure my wife exited the craft safely, my brand-spanking-new Samsung Galaxy S9 phone leaped from the pocket of my lifejacket, slithered thru the partly-unzipped opening, and sacrificed itself by leaping into 80-100 ft of saltwater.

<Sigh> Worst of it is that since it has a good camera on it, I'd taken a bunch of phone pics that are now unrecoverable.

But if you have spare time and the inclination to go look, start here. Time the dives for slack low, it should be in 80-120 ft under the dockd

What a busy weekend. Gib-stopping (what we call plastering plasterboard), work that most be completed before Monday and I did Traffic Control and Tail-end Charlie for a local cycle race. It was bloody cold. Glad I was not in lycra!

He was seconded to the Malayan (as it was then) army in a senior planning/executive role for the last few years of "The Emergency" - 1958 to 1961. They defeated the CTs. Gongs all round.

Nope.

Contest is over.

No more carping.

Oh, and tough break with the Smrat Phon.

At least it wasn't a real camera, like a really good Pentax DSLR.

Condolences on the loss of the phone by RoxnDox

I would think that it would be hard to fit a Pentax DSLR into a pocket on a life preserver

Dogs love to ride and drive.

Especially in a Subaru.

Pikes Peak.

The Race To The Clouds.

The highest race in the world. Twelve miles. 156 bends with half-mile vertical drops. 14,000ft above sea level.

This year, Volkswagen broke not only the electric car record, but also the overall record.

7:57:148

Incredible.

Amazing. And by more than 15 seconds. When you get to this level of racing, that's an incredible achievement.
