There was lots of details about them finding the Jeep, and all the research and acquisition of the bits to manage an accurate restoration. They both sounded very knowledgeable about this vintage of Jeep, and its use in the war.
For instance the sticker on the windshield details everything an operator must do before and after a water crossing. The material used to seal the ignition was a putty filled with asbestos.
I talked with them several times that afternoon, and if I had better memory, or if I had the presence of mind to have taken notes, I could write a book with all they related about the Jeep, and military vehicles.
Although they are certain this Jeep is one used for the war, they couldn't document any specific war theater use.
