Hey, I had the same morning some 7 hours ago. Those mornings move fast! Woosh and it's well past lunchtime.

You may be onto a winner! I like the idea of a "second breakfast"! What about "second lunch"? It's usually "second desert" that gets me in trouble!
Actually, bad choice, it through my whole day off. Ate lunch late and then the same with supper....back to my normal routine today.

That looks tasty... but what on earth have they done with your bacon? It should come with a little nicely-crisped fat, shouldn't it?
They were all out of "normal" bacon so peameal bacon had to suffice. :-(

That is peameal bacon, the only true Canadian bacon.
Well, according to our friends south of the border anyway. ;-)

Right... but what did they do with the fat? I'm no farmer or butcher, but those piggies must have some fat on them

Called back bacon in Canada, this lean smoked meat is a closer kin to ham than regular bacon. From the lean, tender eye of the loin, peameal bacon is sold in cylindrical chunks. Peameal bacon comes pre-cooked and can be eaten from the package or further cooked.

I roast mine in my outdoor oven whole...so good

Two breakfasts was my routine for years - first one at home, then one when I arrived at work. My current employer doesn't server breakfast, so I have to eat a bigger meal at home. On the other hand I get an excellent lunch here - all-you-can-eat for about $50 a month. No bacon in the salad bar, though
I used to be like this years ago but I have been pretty good lately about eating at 6am before I leave, snack (banana or apple) at 9:30ish, then lunch at 11:30. But yesterday I was famished for some odd reason.

Good morning everyone! No bacon for me this morning; back, canadian, proper or otherwise. Just a nice bowl of cereal.

No frost on the pumpkins here but close!

Another type of "bacon" is made from the shoulder (aka butt) and is called buckboard bacon.
A few years back I used a portion of the butt to make something very similar to belly bacon.
It tasted just like real BACON!
