Good morning Dave, sun has just gone down and it's pouring rain. That rain is due to change to snow in the next few hours and then we might be getting a good walloping.
Been snowing at home all day, blue skies in Calgary (I think, I was stuck in an office building).

We left early this morning and were in Banff around sunrise, lovely skies, and golden clouds contrasting with the snowy mountatin peaks. Too bad no camera with me.

Got the Christmas tree out, assembled, lighted and decorated today. Since I will be getting the right foot operated on Tuesday morning today was the last chance to get it done.

So, one more day of work, then a bit of a "vacation" for Racer.
Operate again?!

I was out for a short ski on a neighbours place, and through the field I saw a herd of elk. I purposely chose to go down the hill through the forest in the opposite direction that the elk went, as to avoid skiing into one and disrupting it's peaceful existence. So I was heading down a fast twisty trail on my over 2 metre long sticks, unable to slow down or really turn, when what do I do? That's right, ski right into a big bloomin' bull elk! I managed to throw myself down in the snow to scrape to a stop about 1-2 metres away, while the spooked giant jumped off into the forest. They're quite sizeable creatures, especially when you're that close...
Indeed. No red deer (which I suppose is the closest we have to the elk) in my part of the country, but I do know moose feel rather big when they come close. Good thing he decided no kicking or goring was needed to facilitate an escape...

Not the best on wet snow, though. You should try some of Østbye's Klister, an excellent 1913 patent

Guys, I have a confession to make...

We all know how easy it is to make a mis-step that will throw you off the straight and narrow, sometimes sending you tumbling quite a distance down the hillside. And the climb up the slippery slope through the thorny underbrush can be a bloody challenge. Well, it seems I just keep on going down that slope

I hae a dark past. First it was that kaythree (yes, it had to be said). And when the hociR first gets its foot in the door... In followed the GR, a purebred offspring of the hociR. But yesterday I hit a new low point... a Theta

Fully encompassing 360 degrees of hociR evil!

Help?

Not sure what to do

Today is the first time for the right foot.

Two years ago it was the left foot.

Just got up, getting ready for the trip to the city and the hospital.

They have some odd requirements for preparing for surgery. Sure, the usual, nothing to eat or drink after midnight. No aspirin or nsaid medication one week prior.

Do not shave.

Last night I had to shower, no lotions or scented soap. Dry off with a freshly laundered towel, freshly laundered linens on the bed.

This morning, another shower, same restrictions as last nights shower, finish using a special iodine soap scrub thing from the right thigh to the foot, paying close attention to the toes.

Dry off with yet another freshly laundered towel, but try to let the iodine scrub mostly dry on the skin.

Put on freshly laundered clothes and head to the hospital.

No breakfast.

No coffee.

No bacon.

Not even a sip of water.

Sheesh!

I’ll be ready for a bacon cheeseburger when I get out later today.

1913 patent.

Wonderful news. All the details are n the patent and anyone in the world is now allowed to manufacture, sell or otherwise exploit for gain whatever it is that is covered in that patent.
