That is a feature of Adelaide that I do not miss. It was so hard growing 25 fruit trees in the back yard in that weather. Early December is very early for that temperature.

Careful how you use the C word Mark, Peta might be watching.

Peta’s animal-friendly phrases
“Bring home the bacon” becomes “bring home the bagels”
“Killing two birds with one stone” becomes “feeding two birds with one scone”
“Flog a dead horse” becomes “feed a fed horse”
“Hold your horses” becomes “hold the phone”
“Let the cat out of the bag” becomes “spill the beans”
“All your eggs in one basket” becomes “all your berries in one bowl”
“Open a can of worms” becomes “open Pandora’s box”
“Be the guinea pig” becomes “be the test tube”
“Taking the bull by the horns” becomes “taking the flower by the thorns”
“More than one way to skin a cat” becomes “more than one way to peel a potato”

Stop saying 'put all your eggs in one basket', PETA demands - inews

We got that yesterday morning as a vegan professor from one of the local universities of lower to middle ranking asking for those changes.

Hi Tim

Yes very abnormal for december
last year it rained right up to christmas day
The Murray-Mallee has had very low rainfall this year 60 mm instead of the usual 300 mm for the same period.
I think were in for a hot one this year but had no rain in winter
With the smaller house blocks fruit trees are far between

So far, we have had the wettest December on record. 100mm in a few hours earlier in the week!

I used to live in the Penfolds estate, where the first vineyard in the Adelaide area was planted, and overlooking the city.

Address please? We'll need a place to stay.

That said, a month from the 14th, we'll be heading to sunny California for a bit of sunshine, warmth and R&R...can I last till then....

Well good morning all, Dave, Anne, Bert if you are still listening

We got our weekly bout of sunshine yesterday with temperatures up as high as -5, maybe even -4. Truly a glorious day. I was working from home so took our wee dog for a walk at lunch. It was so nice to get some fresh air and vitamin D. Back to gloom, doom and cloud today. Keep smiling, it's hump day!

What do I say instead of "If that dog continues to wake me with it's snoring, its puppy-chipper time"
