PS - RICOH backwards is HOCIR, so I won't be buying a K-3; might see this in a mirror reflection ... "Here's Johnny !!!"

PPS - "Hocirians" ?! Yuck ...

The 2019 Dakar race is happening right now, started last Monday, and runs through next Thuursday. This year's event takes place on the coast of Peru.

Check out live scoring, previous days results, and driver standings here.

Get all you need to know here at the official website.

The Dakar Rally (or simply "The Dakar"; formerly known as the "Paris–Dakar Rally") is an annual rally raid organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation. Most events since the inception in 1978 were from Paris, France, to Dakar, Senegal, but due to security threats in Mauritania, which led to the cancellation of the 2008 rally, races since 2009 have been held in South America. The race is open to amateur and professional entries, amateurs typically making up about eighty percent of the participants.

The race is an off-road endurance event. The terrain that the competitors traverse is much tougher than that used in conventional rallying, and the vehicles used are true off-road vehicles rather than modified on-road vehicles. Most of the competitive special sections are off-road, crossing dunes, mud, camel grass, rocks, and erg among others. The distances of each stage covered vary from short distances up to 800–900 kilometres (500–560 mi) per day.
I guess the same vehicles as the Baja?

Whaaa?! No way! Maybe a small one on the underside, but no huge mark covering most of the back!

My GR does, though

But not the Theta - but I guess it doesn't really have a front or back

Hail bacon!

Here’s something that will cheer you up. I just catched a stray cat Poor fella was roaming around the house since before Christmas. I installed a winter shelter & a food station. Took me a few days but he trusted “the hooman” just enough to drop his guard. Now instead of freezing outside, he’s in our garage until I can see the address on his tag.

Ps: Tuna is the new bacon.
