Good morning!

Have fun Chuck, and don't forget to send postcards!
Not much melting going on here today, but in the 40F's the next few.
Mrs Bob and I are venturing out for lunch later.
Enjoy your bacon....I know we just did. Bacon and eggs in Ottawa, and then a chicken, avocado and bacon sandwich in Calgary at a Belgian beer joint in the terminal building. On my second Belgian beer and feeling no pain. There was no nap on the flight from Ottawa but heading down to Palm Springs may be a different story...me and Mrs ChaLac snorning on each other's shoulders. ...heck, we are on vacation, might have to have bacon for supper too down in 'merica.

Apart from the hobbling and the longer commute I feel much the same about Mondays.

Oh, and my wife still is in Zimbabwe. She sent me message that fuel prices had near trebled over night and that there is some unrest as a result. The reason given for the price hike is to "remedy fuel shortages"... All is quiet where she stays, though. Always good get notice before it hits the news (which it has).

Might be they shut down social media as well, but I'd be surprised if they shut down the mobile networks for any extended time. I just hope the situation doesn't make travelling too difficult.
The best of luck to her...we are a little worried about our travelling over the next few weeks as US airport security is impaired by reduced manpower.

Hopefully they have enough juice to fuel up the plane.

What a fascinating story.

Seeing how people live in places like that makes me stop for a moment and pause.

At first I think, "How fortunate I am to live in a modern, industrialized society, with all the modern conveniences, immediate access to excellent health care, a great job, a decent home."

Then I think about the laid back, slowed down pace of life in a place like that, where people live simple lives, scratching out a living with hard work and determination. They are happy, and satisfied with their lot, living in a very picturesque place.

And then I think, "Life there might be better, less complex, very straightforward."
