When does she fly home Savoche?
She should be well on her way to Addis Ababa by now. From there it's a direct flight home, landing about 14 hours from now.

I do realise that "direct flight home" will be intentionally misinterpreted by some. I know I would. But no, we don't actually have an international airport in our garden.

We would never do that, but I agree that you probably would.
They call our airport Lambert International, but flights to just about anywhere go to Dallas, TX first.
TWA used to have a lot of direct flights, back before they were bought out by American Airlines.

So... Between being stabbed by someone who's not always around, and being stabbed by yourself, who, unless you're very absent-minded, will be there 24/7 for the rest of your life - the latter is to be preferred?

Ok, ok, accidents can happen. Maybe next time you won't miss the bagpipe, Bert

I had been ice climbing for about a grand total of five minutes in my life when I did it, the people I was with said they've never seen or heard of that happening before... except when one takes a big fall on lead, which wasn't me as I was going up the wall at the time on top rope, kept climbing to the top however and didn't really look at my leg until someone pointed out the red stain by my knee...

You don’t?

Why I thought everyone did. After all, this is the Jet Age.

Addis Ababa?

Hope the airport has better traffic control than they do downtown.

Let's hope you taught him a lesson, then, or else he might seek revenge...

I somehow think I wouldn't enjoy it should an airliner "land" in the yard...

Yeh, that's a fascinating clip - might is right! But the last time I visited Addis the airport was reasonably well organised. Most of the international airports in the region are. Some of the local ones can be quite interesting, though.

BBC reports are a bit unsettling. "Zimbabwe opposition office torched. Several people have been killed and hundreds arrested following violent protests." Several of the employees at my wife's hotel couldn't get to work so I guess there are some road blocks, too. Things have been perfectly calm around the hotel, though, and it's not too far to the airport so getting there oughtn't be too difficult. It will be good to get her home anyway
Wishing you all the best. Not the sort of news you want when a loved one is in a place like that.
