Thanks for the tip about a kind of place not to look for what Americans call a rest room.

Good morning all; snowing here again. Bought an old Bolens 1026 snowblower a couple days ago for $100. No spark so I removed the electronic ignition yesterday and verified it to be faulty. $50 in amazon gets me a new one and a new carb. $150 for a snowblower built like a tank...not bad.

Ever watch Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch"?
A couple of times.

Been a while though, so I need to see it again.

Back at ya Charlie, et al.
It hit 64F yesterday, currently 25F with 1 to 2 inches of snow predicted, starting around noon.
One of those days that Mrs Bob would have to decide whether to go to work or not, if she still worked.
My guess is she would stay home.

Remarkable airplane.

Every second a 737 is taking off or landing somewhere around the world.

No other aircraft holds that distinction.

Different eras aside, there's definitely similarities in the use of on-screen violence between Peckinpah and Tarantino... It wouldn't surprise me if there was some influence there...
I saw an interview with Tarantino recently and he discussed his influences. Many of the classics and directors were mentioned, and I think that was one of those.

Edit:
Husband/wife failure to communicate, see my later post.

I'm starting a GoFundMe page for Brooke the lab, she's out of a job.
One of Mrs Bob's indulgences is the local (printed) newspaper to read while eating breakfast.
The cost was $81 per month, they raised the rate to $114, so goodbye St Louis Post Dispatch.
Brooke will have to adjust to not having a paper to retrieve in the morning and i'm sure she'll need extra treats to stave off depression.

I was gob-smacked when I read that... $114 per month for a daily-delivered newpaper?!?

I don't know if this helps, Bob, but I just looked on their website and they're currently offering home delivery service every day (inc weekend) plus digital access for $61.75 per month...

I deleted my last post.
Thanks to you Mike I went to their subscription page, that started a dialog with my bill paying better half.
I thought she was paying monthly rates, the rates are for 3 months.
Still, the increase was too much, so we're leaving it canceled............for now.

That happened two years ago with our TV provider....they bumped up the monthly rate without notifying us so we cancelled. Boy oh boy did that ever create an uproar. That was two years ago and we are quite content with Netflix at a 10th the cost....but we are not sports fans.

I'd love to cut the cord, but we both couldn't live without Cardinal's baseball, and for her only the Home and Garden network.

Yeah that was my issue for a while with F1 racing but I simply could not see paying over a grand a year just for f1...so bye bye!
