BTW: terrible calligraphy. Looks like someone copied it out of a printed dictionary. Calligraphy should be in a cursive form which is itself artistically expressive. Really complicated matter.
Probably copied from Google Translate... But yes, if you want to decorate yourself with "deep" characters, at least do it properly.

I'll leave this as a language exercise for all y'alls.

Even though I don’t know the language that is, I get it.

Very funny!

Not that those providing streamed music make it easy to stumble into new genres. They do their best to lock you into what you usually listen to. Sure, most of the time I'm happy with that - but I could wish they had a "surprise me" function to play something I didn't know existed.

But no, it's all about keeping you in your comfy bubble.

Always the bubble.

That is a strange consequence of the internet which allegedly makes almost anything accessible, but also enables monopolies to develop and be hard to break.

They conspire to hold us in the echo boxes of our prior favourite music, politics, etc etc.

And think, back in the days of B&M shops it was possible for specialist small shops to set up in places where there would be passing traffic of people going to the major shops. But what is the logical 'next door' to Amazon if you go shopping at Amazon and do not find what you want, what do you stumble across when you leave Amazon? Before search engines there were the people who registered slight typo errors of the names but now that does not work because people do not go to things by typing addresses.

Do all you who work have employers like mine that have large intranet sites.

They promulgate information about this and that and tell us it is available on the site.

My line: "hidden on the internet" or "hidden on the intranet".

How many of you feel the sentiment in my line. You want me to read it - just give me the exact, deep link to the exact page you want me to read.

Yes.

And you, or any of the others here, cannot go look at it.

It is behind a very formidable firewall.

No one gets in.

Hidden in plain sight.

But not only that, even if you have authorisation to get into the site, you can never work out how to navigate the site to find the thing you need.

more than a few of my supplier side sites are like that, hopelessly designed in the hope they can eliminate sales force, if the site is bad I email all my orders to the rep, if it is ok i use it but make sure i keep the rep involved because a good rep is useful web pages aren't going to cut it for me

I picked right up on it, given the context.

And I too avoided any of the nasties that were common back then, in spite of my frequent careless dives from one port to another.

Today?

Covering one’s body from head to toe may not prevent contracting some weird bug the doctors can’t cure.

Yep.

Monogamy is the only way to go these days.

That's why they call them sweat pants.

So you sweat while wearing them.
