So far, Fiji Airways are still flying their 737 MAX 8 planes between Nadi and Wellington, New Zealand. NZ is going by FAA advice that the two Fiji Air 737 MAX 8 airplanes are safe to fly.

So, roughly 170 737 MAX 8 airplanes are grounded and around 150 are still flying.

It seems Australia is allowing 737 MAX 8 flights to leave. Fiji Air flight FJ1914 left Sydney 2 hours ago for Nadi.

NZ Civil Aviation Authority now changed their mind and Fiji 737 MAX 8 airplanes no longer allowed to fly to or from New Zealand.

I cooked asparagus just a few days ago, to serve with pork belly and buttery mashed potato. For the first time ever, instead of cooking the asparagus in a mix of olive oil and butter as I usually would, I used the pork fat from the meat, added a couple of cloves of minced garlic, a little sea salt and a pinch of fresh black pepper. It was just an experiment, but my oh my, a worthwhile one. My Mum & Dad were extremely complimentary about it, and if I say so myself, it was the nicest asparagus I've ever cooked. I recommend trying it. I guess bacon fat would work just as well...
Mom always had a coffee can by the cooktop, and poured the bacon grease into it.

She used it to cook with, anything that got tossed in a skillet. Always tasted great.

She used it to make pie crust. Flaky and tasty!

When she was baking she greased the cake and brownie pans and the cookie sheets. Best tasting cookies ever.

Sounds yummy!
If you're one of Bert's goats.
Guess you have never been in the barn and enjoyed the scent of hay as it dries, or had milk fresh from the cow.

These things would go well with bacon Bob.

Takes me back to those days when my folks had the hobby farm.

I would spend late summer days lying in the haymow on a pile of alfalfa with the sun streaming in through the open door, drinking in the aroma of the moist grass.

*sigh*

Pickled asparagus... I would never have thought of that. Doesn't the vinegar and salt overpower the taste? Or am I showing my ignorance of pickling (highly probable )? Full disclosure... In very nearly 50 years, I have never pickled so much as an onion
Go easy on the salt, and don't overdo the vinegar. By the way, vinegar is good for those who suffer from arthritis.

Try this:

Breakfast of champions, vegetable and grains food groups represented.

Pickled asparagus spears, string beans, a couple pickled cocktail onions on a skewer, some fresh celery stalks for balance, spicy Bloody Mary mix, Clamato, spicy V-8 juice or Snap E Tom with beer.

Grind some peppercorns over the top.

Enjoy.

Repeatedly.

With breakfast.

Bacon, eggs, hash browns, English muffin with honey.

Oh yeah.

I prefer Bombay Sapphire. I keep it in the freezer, pour a large shot glass of it once in a while and sip it.

The flavors from the 10 ingredients are awesome.

Pickled Spruce Tips

Mmmmm . . . . . . . . sounds like something that Euell Gibbons would make.

But hey, you can make beer from them too!
