Hate is ignorance.

And it affects us all when those consumed by it behave badly.

I hope these events can help the good people of the world to come closer together, have a better understanding of our differences and be more accepting and tolerant of those differences.

I'm crying for New Zealand today. This is too similar to what we saw here in 2011 - and inspired by it as well, it seems

Heartfelt condolences to you and your country Mark.
I saw that the death toll is up to 49, so very sad and senseless.

Terrible news; I’m sure that all of our thoughts are with our Kiwi friends.

Saw that on BBC site when I woke up.

Bad news.
Thank you everyone for your messages.

It seems we were dealing with a "lone gunman" although it seems he did have some associates. He appeared in court this morning and will appear again 5th April.
It would seem he shot indiscriminately, men, women and children and went back to execute people wounded. He was not on any security watchlists. It would appear he is an Australian and a white supremacist. It would seem he acquired the firearms used in the attack legally, but some (illegal) modifications appear to have been made to these firearms which allowed their use in automatic or semi-automatic fashion.

We are naturally shocked and did not think anything like this would ever happen here.

Our hearts go out to everyone in Christchurch and the Muslim community throughout New Zealand.

Good morning all. The Missus decided to get a bit more sleep but my back would have none of that. Might as well catch up on the forum and play around with a picture or two.

Looks like all the same teams are in the top five of the F1 qualifying...ho hum

Watching qualifying yesterday evening I saw an interview with one of the Williams drivers. He made a comment about the team competing for last place.

Sad commentary for what was once a championship caliber team.

Mansell was the man.

A couple of 1 lb. each slabs of cured pork belly are currently getting apple wood smoked into bacon.
Tomorrow's dinner will be this 1.65 lb. Porterhouse I found in the short dated meat section.
Guess it didn't sell due to the fat running through it graded CAB Choice, but looks near Prime with all of the marbling.

That will be real nice well seasoned with grill marks and seared to perfection over some nice mesquite coals. Don't forget some grilled vegetables to go with it.

Well, strictly speaking, bread is a vegetable. It's neither animal nor mineral; therefore it's a vegetable.
