Ironic when people would get copies of their national flag, made in China.
As a teenager I was in the Boy Scouts. For a merit badge I made an example of each iteration of the US flag, from Betsy's original, right up to the current flag with the 13 stripes and 50 stars. I got red white and blue material, cut out the stripes, blue field and stars, and sewed it all up on my mom's sewing machine. Used oak dowels for flagpoles, an oak base wirh routered edges, and used brass eyelets and clothesline cord to make it all look authentic.

A lot of work for just one merit badge. And I don't even remember what it was for.

Interesting to note, I was born when the flag only had 48 stars.

Alaska and Hawaii didn't become states until 3 years after I came into the world.

The 48 star flag was always my favourite - aesthetically. Very neat those rows of stars.

I tell ya, I cut out and stitched a lot of stars. Even cut the blue out so I only had to sew each star once.

Tedious work.

Right, and the third digit of each hand is just a finger so why would anyone be offended by it if unceremoniously displayed it to them?
Hi

Some are offended
And some don't really see the display of a flag as the only way to be patriotic to ones own country.

In other words you do it your way and we''ll do it ourway

And no way is the right way

In my opinion, sometimes our patriotism is seen by others as being arrogant, trust me, it is not intended to be that way.
