And is Mrs Charlac the Queen or Joker? Or does she claim both titles?

What was she doing?

Anything productive?

Or was she just fooling around?

It is previously frozen Norwegian salmon, very good but not as good as Alaskan sockeye.

Hi Racer

Its a question you don't ask when a 'Queen of Hearts' is wielding a nailing gun.

Just say'in

One other thing.

The tilt of the house?

You did something wrong. Better call in a professional carpenter now, have them take a look at that.

I think all that screwing around has twisted something out of whack.

By the way, wicked screw gun attachment. At first I saw it on my iPod, so it was small, and looked like an electric drill with a crossbow attachment or something. Saw it just now and realized it is a screw magazine attachment.

I gotta get me one of those.

I've never had pigeon, but I suspect their breast is a lighter meat than mourning doves due to not flying very far.
Had to look it up. And as with most thing in English.... Pigeon is robbed from French, dove from German, and English made a mess of it all

And there is no consistency in what is what. Pigeon is usually used when a dove is fairly large, while a dove is usually a small pigeon, but it all boils down to whether or not the naturalist naming the bird had had his lunch or not.

The short story: They are the same

It is a bit strange, though. In other contexts the French word is usually used when an animal makes part of a meal. Cow -> beef, calf -> veal, swine -> pork, sheep -> mutton, roadkill -> poultry.

The small size, and twisting flight, of doves make them a challenge to hit, the average is 5 to 7 shots per bagged bird.
I once dropped two with one shot, but only once.
Reminds me of an episode in The Pioneers when Pathfinder would demonstrate some marksmanship:
QuoteQuote:
"Do you observe the gulls that are fying over our heads?"
"Certainly, Pathfinder -- there are too many to escape notice."
"Here, where they cross each other, in sailing about--" he added, cocking and raising his rifle-- "the two-- the two-- now look!"
The piece was presented as quick as thought, as two of the birds came in a line, though distant from each other many yards, the report followed, and the bullet passed through the bodies of both the victims."
What? Not documentary, you say?

Hmm, must be at least 20 years since I read the Leatherstocking Tales. Maybe it's time to re-visit them. Mr Cooper did know how to write a good story. He wasn't afraid of keeping his sentences going, either, if I remember correctly

At Mons-Le Cateaux, 1914, the Germans lined up so close that each British bullet could hit four of them. And by a bonus for rapid target shooting the British had trained to fire 15 rounds per minute with their 100% manual 303s.

Very productive...Screw-nailing the flooring planks (in an attempt to reduce squeaks and grinding some screws coming up through the floor in preparation for the subfloor. Yes yes, I know, very fashionable steel toed sandals.
