Looks like the boots the local dairy farmers wear while mucking about in the milking parlor.

Also notice that I have no slip on shoes. Another thing the doctor wants, says lace up footwear fits and supports, slip on doesn’t.

I do have a pair of Dan Post boots, had them nearly 40 years. Black, modest size heel, had them resoled about 18 years ago.

Look like this:

Best gumboots I've ever had. They even make a steel cap version. I don't need those. Quatro Range | Skellerup

Apart from my Military Dress shoes, i don't bother with lace-ups.

When working out-of-doors I usually wear these:

Walking in mountainous terrain I don't need the same level of protection, of course.

In less rough terrain there is no need for as stiff soles.

At work I use these.

For most other things I wear these.

Oh I know they do, but the way they chose to run this vent was a little crazy.

He has. I did reach out to him some time back and he says he's taking a break from photography. Seems well though, and busy.
Good to hear he is well.

I imagine they did not want to hack a giant hole through the wall framing top plate, thereby killing the integrity of the wall.

It's a none load bearing wall so a hole would have been fine, but that is the least of the craziness. Too hard to explain, maybe I'll draw a picture. Anyway, it will get nicely hidden when the cubboards go up.

I like it. Better than perpetual motion. It actually produces a surplus of energy over the course of a day.

They did make one glaring error though.

The serious work, some argue, is still done by gas guzzling diesel engines.
I must point out that if one puts gas in a diesel engine, it won't run for very long.

Diesel fuel is what goes in diesel engines.

Still, that electric dump truck is pretty cool.
