All this talk of non alcohol beer makes me want to comment.

So I will.

Why have beer without alcohol?

It is the same as coffee without caffeine.

What's the point?

I drink coffee to wake up, and the caffeine is what does the trick.

I drink beer to enjoy the buzz from the alcohol. Not to get drunk, just to get that warm fuzzy feeling, you know?

Oh, and this.

24 hours in a day.

24 beers in a case.

Coincidence?

I think not.

We have been here about 15 years, and the river hasn't changed a bit, as far as the channel. No erosion or accretion. It does change some year to year, down below. About 98% of the property is 70 feet or more above the high watermark. Down below, the wetted part that gets dry in the summer is sometimes sandy like the ocean beaches, other times rocky, with areas of coarse sand.
That's neat, the river banks here have quite a bit of erosion. Then these rich folks buy lots and build holiday homes within 50 feet of the river. Sorry buddy, your house isn't going to be here by the the end of the decade... It will be found in many pieces downstream.

Yes.

Swimming in the summer.

And we either put in, or get out with our kayaks right here. We usually put in, as the upstream section is only good for a week or two, and a couple miles shorter than the downstream run.

Oh, and you could canoe it too, if you like.

Then there are all the citiots in the summer who put in at the county park upstream, and are either going to the swinging bridge (about 6 miles downstream) or the other county park (about 12 miles). They usually have inner tubes, or the cheap K-Mart rubber rafts, and a cooler full of beer. By the time they pass here they are drunk, and often they put in too late in the day, and don't have time to get to the swinging bridge before dark.

If we see them going by,and they ask how far to the get out, we always say, "Just around the next bend."

Because what they really want is someone to give them a ride back to their car, because they have realized they won't make it.

Citiots.
Too many citiots around. It seems that living your life in a city gets rid of your common sense...

Probably cause they spend all day upside down.

My dad's parents were alcoholics.

My dad's brother was an alcoholic. His son is an alcoholic.

My dad was an alcoholic.

My kid brother (10 years my junior) is an alcoholic.

Me?

I like a drink or a beer now and again. But aside from my twenties when I had little self control, I have not had troubles with alcohol. I like it too much to abuse it.

I guess the alcoholism gene missed me.

It is quite alright Bert. Didn't offend me at all.

I am happy that I was able to turn out better than the other members of my family.

Well, a few points. Allow me....
  1. In summer time, we often have work functions that require driving to or from and if you don't like sweet drinks, then a beer is a pretty good drink. Alcohol free is great if you're the one doing the driving.
  2. In summer time, we often have social functions that require driving to or from and if you don't like sweet drinks, then a beer is a pretty good drink. Alcohol free is great if you're the one doing the driving.
  3. We have lots of booze checkpoints so it's not a good idea to even think of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Good Afternoon All

Well.........
Thamkyou for the how too's I will try a bit later
The' no alchohol ' beers are getting more common now with the lower and lower allowed alchohol levels when driving ( it does keep some of us safer on the road )
'gravel' is also ' metal ' over here too. It really depends on the use as to what it is called.
Garden is the more looked after bit the yard is the rest.

Your new tree blew up?
What happened - too much pizzazz?
Is there an image? (Although if there is no image I can understand; images of a disaster are ok, but it may be too distressing to take a pic of your own disaster.
