Done drinking the rocket fuel. Still sitting on the launch pad. Leave for the probe shop in a couple hours.

After that, a bacon cheeseburger.

60kms to the top of Mt Buffalo (as the crow flies - although I suspect no crows will be flying that way anytime soon)
104 kms as the cars go. - and ditto on the lack of going soon.
The fire causing concern is on the NW side of the mountain (the side nearest me, which means it is about 50kms away, but heading in a different direction. - there is a lot of open country between the fire and me with lots more chance of controlling it, even it it changed direction. Smoke is our biggest concern; there is so much around that even when the wind changes we still get smoke that we saw a few days ago returning.

Actually, I was awake for the whole thing. They gave me fentanyl, and some other stuff, which put me right where I wanted to be. Then I watched the whole thing on a very large flatscreen monitor.

Fascinating stuff.

Oh, and they use Fuji anal probe cameras, rather than Pentax.

I just thought y’all should know.

And after today’s events I definitely won’t be buying a K-3.

Hi Rod

Stay safe

The wind with all the bushfires around the country js just blowing the smoke hundreds of klms .
The smoke from the K I fire is up at the Flinders Ranges.
The smoke from N S W and Vic is over New Zealand.
The area burnt is vast .
