Leif, son of Eirik the Red, son of Thorvald, son of Ásvald, son of Úlf, son of Řxna-Thórir who was brother of Naddodd, the dude that discovered Iceland.
Eirik's family left Norway after Thorvald had a disagreement with some neighbours, a disgreement that ended in people dying. Eirik then grew up on Iceland and was forced to leave Iceland after some disagreements where several neighbours ended up dead. We all take after our fathers, don't we. Anyway, Eirik brought his family, Leif included, to Greenland. After his 3 year period as an outlaw ended he went back to Iceland to convince people to settle this fantastic land he had found (he hadn't, but was probably the first to successfully settle there) - and as part of the PR package he named it Greenland. It worked.
But sorry, Eirik died in Greenland, too.
Could it have been Ásvald, then? Probably not - he came from the southern part of the country
