That's about as pleasant as nails scratching a blackboard.

The turbocharged Buick V6 in the March GTP, at Laguna Seca.

Awesome.

I’ll post a picture or two later from my archives.

In sports car racing there are several classes of car running together. The video is riding along in a GTP car, one of the fastest classes. The other cars are GTO and GTU, sedan based tube frame cars, and a bit slower than the Sports Prototype cars.

As promised, pictures of the Buick powered March GTP Sports Prototype, shot by yours truly, at Portland International Raceway, Portland Oregon, 1986.

Shot on Kodachrome, with a Ricoh XR2S, with a Pentax M40-80mm zoom lens.

Copied with a Pentax K5IIs, and A50mm f1.7 lens with a Pentax Auto Bellows M and Slide Copier For Auto Bellows M.

Who needs a K-3?

My son and I used to race quite a bit with Gran Turismo on the Playstation. Laguna Seca was always one of my favourites and especially that diabolical blind plunging chicane. I know, I know, just a game but you know what? Next best thing to being there smelling the petrol and hot tires. I was in a car similar to that racing my son and my attention wavered approaching that chicane. I applied the brakes far too late and slammed into the wall. No joke, I almost had heart failure. A very immersive simulation.

Grey/gray is an odd thing for me in that gray, being the American typical has never looked right to me. I have always used grey despite having been educated solely in America. Well, America and California.

My son and I too! That is a treacherous corner! I recognized the course immediately when starting to watch the video, even though I'd not played the game for many years.

Here is a nice review of a Bathurst add on mod.

I have plans to build a sim racing rig like this guy has. I have a spare race seat, pedals and wheel, and a PC that is begging to be re-purposed as a dedicated sim racing machine.

Also, the mod being reviewed is for Assetto Corsa, a racing sim that is more current than GTR2. Looks pretty cool, I may explore an upgrade.

Greyhound Bus Lines.

Rode many of them in my day, starting with ones that looked like in the picture. Those were cool. Stainless steel coachwork, chrome, carpet, velour seat upholstery, curtains, the driver in a uniform with a cap.

Good, no, awesome times for travel in North America.

Air travel was cool then too.

In one of these.

These days, passengers are little more than freight that talks. Crammed into metal tubes like sardines.

The more they can pack in the more they make. Nothing is more important than the bottom line.
