Back bacon is made from the loin, located near the back. I've made it several times and to me it's pretty much just ham.
Side bacon is from the belly. I think it's called streaky bacon in the UK.
I like the smell of side or streaky bacon, but I've never cared as much for the eating. A bit too much fat for me. But I do like Back or Canadian bacon.

One of my favourite meats is meat loaf. My wife makes ours out of ground beef and ground pork. I prefer these main ingredients in meat loaf, rather tnah just ground beef.

I'm not fussy. Streaky bacon or back bacon, it all works for me. So long as the word "bacon" is in there somewhere, I'm happy. How a bout a bacon dress?

Mrs Racer makes meatloaf surprise for me. Ground beef, pork sausage, diced onion and garlic, chopped black olives, chopped green olives (the ones with pimento in them), chunks of cheddar cheese, chunks of mozzarella cheese, and a few other things, topped with barbecue sauce rather than catsup.

Mmmmm . . . . . . . . . tasty!

What comes first? The meatloaf or the surprise?

Meatloaf surprise.

We use that term too, but usually on the second day.

BTW, I like that recipe. Looks really tasty. I would forgo the black olives...for some reason black olives have never grabbed me. But green olives...I love them.

Yep...how 'bout that bacon dress. I first thought of a better rejoinder...but I kept it to myself.

It was a good one too...and I mean a real good one.

But I considered, PF is a family forum......

In other news. Top of the dome very nearly done. But I've run out of fire cement and courier won't get here with more of the stuff until probably Thursday. Dang. Just short too.

I also sprayed everything that needs spraying this weekend: Roundup (glyphosate) for weeds in the driveway and garden beds and paths, Banvine (dicamba) for weeds in the lawn and sulphur for the fruit trees and grape vines and roses.
