OK dudes, I'm going off-line and headed for shoulder surgery, entering the great unknown, unknown how long the rehab will take, unknown how long it will be before I can lift a camera, unknown how long before I can post again (actually , even unknown how long before I can take shower again.... poor Tess.)
Good luck with the surgery Norm. Remember to use a sharpie / magic marker / whatever a felt pen is called by you and draw an arrow and write "operate this shoulder" before the op. Make sure to write that at the shoulder that needs the op.

I had my knee scoped about a decade ago...old hockey injury. I went into the hospital , the surgeon comes in with his black ink sharpie , says hello and without so much as a bye your leave makes a big X on the wrong knee. I said...it's the other knee...the surgeon replied, it can't be, are you sure ?

I said yes, I've been living with a sore knee for a number of years. Surgeon says well I'll have to read the files....I thought..... you haven't read the files yet ? He came back and said, well you're right, scribbled the sharpie over the wrong X ..........and then did another X on the correct knee.

It all worked out well...though I wish he hadn't used indelible ink.

Shall we start a pool on how long that will last this time?

I'm in at 8 days, 3 1/2 hours.

I'd bet 11 days, 3 hours.
Well the shortest time back from a quarantine was 3 days, after returning from the first one.

Interestingly, that second quarantine only lasted 3 days, and it was nearly 3 months before getting sent home for the third quarantine.

Just as long as I don't get this thing, I'll sit at home for two week quarantines repeatedly.

It happens all to often. We think they're very clever but they're really just carpenters with clean tools.

If you are standing near one of these when they are running, you can't hear yourself think.

I do recall one day back in the late '60's I was at the local drags and they had brought in a couple of AA/FD......(fuel dragsters) in for exhibition runs. They were powered by , if memory serves me....first generation supercharged Chrysler Hemi engines. They were ground pounders and aptly named as you could feel the ground shake and the depth of engine noise was such that it seemed to go through your body cavity.

Speed, noise, acceleration very impressive...

Norm, all the best for the op.
Your photography shouldn't suffer much; Tess carries stuff, sets up tripod, you make images. Tess relocates stuff to new location, rinse and repeat. After that she gets to take half a cooling shower while helping you have a full shower. No problem! (except for me, if Tess is ever is in Oz and finds out where I live).

Slow grilled bacon wrapped turkey breast tenders. Bits of fresh sage and rosemary put on the grate to add some aromatic smoke.

Reminds me of the old joke:
One polar bear to another, "I love these things, crunchy on the ourside, soft and chewy on the inside!"

Best of luck, Norm. I'm sure you'll swing a paddle again in no time.
