I resemble that remark! I saw an interesting flick on the weekend from your part of the world called "Mortal". Was it my imagination or was the little town they filmed part of the movie the same as pictures you have posted from your summer getaway?

Yep. We used to talk about cheese; and Velveeta too.

Heh, hadn't even heard of that film. But no, it's filmed on the west coast, in Odda.

There's a couple (of thousand?) along I-70 through Kansas too.
Pic taken with Mrs Bob at the wheel, doing at least 70 mph, probably more.
The MX-1 proves no one needs a k3.

That pic was taken with my venerable K-7 while Mom and I, on our last trip together, stopped to let her wee dog go for a pee.

Dinner tonight was a traditional mutton Cassoulet made in a deep casserole dish in the pizza oven, along with a bread, also baked in the oven using last night's leftover heat. We had my mother here last night for pizzas.
I'm still getting kicks cooking with "free" heat!
You need to make some bacon in that thing.

Thanks everyone for the condolences, they mean a lot to us.
Today is a tiny bit better than yesterday, and I know each day will lift a little more weight off our hearts.
We still "hear" her at times, and that too shall eventually fade.
It has been about 13 or 14 years since Zoe passed away. The house wasn't even built yet.

I still find her fur now and then.

I still get all teary eyed when I think of her

Here is a picture of her nekkid.

Saw a glimpse inside The Big Shed on the news this morning.
Had to do a search for more info on Boeing's goal of using100% sustainable fuels by 2030.
I thought maybe they planned to use solar and only fly in daylight.

Nope:
Sustainable aviation fuels can be made from a wide variety of feedstocks, including non-edible plants, agricultural and forestry waste, non-recyclable household waste, industrial plant off-gassing and other sources. Third-party organizations such as the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials assure sustainability certification.
They have been testing biofuels in the EcoDemonstrator 787 for a few years. Cool stuff.

Late coffee break this morning, shoot, it is nearly lunch time.

Had to play hookey today. When I got home from work yesterday I discovered the other hot water heater had sprung a leak. No biggie though,we bought a modern heater with a heat pump on it.

Did a thorough cleanup of the basement earlier, now it is time to get busy with the swap.

I thought about doing something like that, but I'm not computer smart enough to do it.
Cheese was a popular topic here, way back when.
Back when I was a bachelor, many moons ago, a favourite snack, why sometimes a meal of mine.... was this product called Squeeze Cheez....something like that. It was in a round , sausage shaped plastic container deal, and had a exit for the cheez in the top, You'd poke it through the plastic exit with a knife, get yourself some Ritz cracker, or if you wanted to have a real healthy snack....cut some celery and then squeeze and just lay a bit of the Squeeze Cheez onto your cracker or celery. After you finished the meal preparation, you'd put a plastic cap provided, back over the hole to conserve product freshness.

One box of Ritz and one Squeeze Cheez feeds one...bachelor male.

I liked it, think they called it Cheez as it wasn't actually cheese, so they had to call it some kind of cheese food. Not sure it's around anymore., but I don't know for sure, as when grocery shopping my wife gives me a list and I'm under strict orders not to veer off it.

Anyways, I notice people are quite generous providing their food recipes around here, I figured it was high time I contributed one of my favourite recipes from the past.

Enjoy.

A sturdy, robust looking dog. Part Rottweiler ? Some of our family members are allergic unfortunately. Otherwise I would love to have another dog. When I was a young boy, there were always dogs on the family.

Wonderful companions.
