My family has sort of 'fallen out'
out of the tradition of eating haggis. Last time we had haggis we had it on a Scottish farm for breakfast. We were at a farm bed and breakfast, just outside of Dumfries of all places...the city where Burns lived.
It was an interesting meal, there was a large window that we sat by, that looked out to a beautiful green field, with both cattle and sheep. We had a few cattle come right up to the window , chewing their cud while checking out, what we were eating in disinterested fashion.
Meanwhile the sheep kept their distance and stayed in the far end of the field. Might of been something to do with the fact that haggis has sheep components, but nae cattle parts in the recipe, or so I've wondered since that meal.
