Nice #1.

But it doesn't look like bacon jerky.

You make your own bacon, so show us some bacon jerky.

SOFIA Overview | NASA
Nice.

A 747SP, built at The Big Shed in 1977. Notice the short fuselage.

I would like to take credit, but.

A 777-200.

They haven't made one of those for about 12 years.

I have only worked on 777-300 and 777F (freighter) wings.

And 777-300, 777F, 777X, 767F and KC-46 (tanker) fuselages.

Still, testament to a solid airframe, and a robust and capable aircraft.

I like V8's . I like high performance V6's. I know in the past that you had described your Land Rover, but I can't recall the model year, type, engine , transmission. Did you have the Rover V8, which originated as a Buick V6, also used in Oldsmobile's back in the '60's ?
QuoteOriginally posted by MarkJerling Quote
Yes, Buick derived 3.9l V8i. (The first ones were 3.5l) Not a V6 derivative. Buick experimented with a light alloy V8 but canned the project. Landrover bought the design.
These also had a 3.5 liter derivative of that engine.

I remember those TR8's. Didn't like the looks. Wasn't that the last of the Triumph sportscars ?

The 3.5 liter Rover V8, which also went into the MGB V8.

My favourite Triumphs were the TR3 and the TR4. Liked the sloping door of the TR 3 and the blocky robust look of the TR4. What a car, it would of been with say, a small block Chevy V8, if it would fit. Also liked the Sunbeam Tiger with the Ford 260/289 V8.

Also the Triumph GT6, which to me, looked like a mini Jaguar XK-E coupe. When the GT6 first came out, I was a high school student , cut a class or two, and took the city bus to the nearest Triumph car dealer. I tried to fit into it, but I couldn't. Even as a 15 year old, I was too tall and gangly.

Triumph TR4 - Wikipedia

An uncle, who was a civil engineer and a Major in the Canadian Army, attended a British Military school in England, sometime in the period between very late '40's to the very early '50's (can't recall the exact time) and drove a used Triumph Roadster (2000, I think) , while there.

They hang the engines under the wing because the aerodynamics result in the heat from an engine fire being directed away from the wing, maintaining structural integrity.

They got the idea after noticing that many B17s travelling towards Germany in the early 40s got shot in an engine in the wing and the heat resulted in failure of the wing structure, then loss of the plane and loss of the crew. Many of the crew did not survive because they were unable to bail.

Speaking of jerky, one of my favorites.
I'm partial to the teriyaki-flavoured one as a hiking snack, but I ain't saying no to the normal one either.

After the giant sub, I mean. I get *very* hungry while hiking

Yup. All the same basic engine design. See Rover V8 engine - Wikipedia
The design was originally used in this Rover: Rover P5 - Wikipedia
But became very popular in this model Rover: Rover P6 - Wikipedia

By the time they had upped that design to 3.9l it made its way into the Landrover Discovery.
Eventually the 4.6l version of that engine found it's way into the Range Rover.

I recently came across sw called SpatialChat. Kind of simulates mixing with a crowd in a room for these antisocial, by order, days. Nothing like Zoom which simulates a board room meeting.

Not having a domestic manufacturing base for it is a huge problem . That is changing but it takes time
Suppliers short shipping and delaying the orders isn’t helping
