The D800 advertises 720 60p/24p. 720p is not great for high res buffs but a realistic web streaming resolution.

720P is considered by some to be superior to 1080i for sports. At least that's what Disney (ABC/ESPN) and Fox will claim in the USA.

Every modern DSLR does 720p/60 including Pentax K-3 of course.

There is a lot of countries where 25p is typical tv frame rate. And a lot of tv sets that can display 24p. And the most important thing to get a film look is not a frame rate itself, but 180 degree shutter associated with it - every frame should be exposed for ~1/50s. Even if you convert to a different frame rate, the motion illusion, caused by the amount of motion blur on each frame is going to be similar.
That's an overly simplistic view of how to get the film look. It's akin to saying that a FF camera will get your pro photos. Of all the factors - lighting, composition, subject matter, story, etc... - 24p is among the lowest on the list.

The distinction between mirrorless and DSLRs may be important to stills photographers, but unimportant for people shooting video. For them, they are all mirrorless since all of their filming is done with the mirror locked up and out of the way. You could sneak into a film maker's gear bag an tape the mirror up and they probably wouldn't know the difference.

Of course. But we are talking about frame rates and shutter "angles" and that is a part of that look.

Yes, but the K-3 is a DSLR - let's compare apples to apples.

Yes, I had to update myself on that.

My point is-for someone shooting primarily video, they are all apples. The mirror is a vestigial organ to them, like an appendix. It may not make sense to a person shooting primarily stills, but people focused on video will shop the K-3 against the Panasonic GH3, mirror be damned.

Yea, when I created the poll, I neglected to carefully think about the first option I put up... it's meant to be referring to the higher megapixel count... which is totally separate from sensor size.. haha, whoops.
Maybe a mod could change the wording for you? More pixels would be a sufficient description. 24mp is my second main want, along with improved AF. I need more crop-ability for wildlife and improved tracking for BIF's.

I'm very happy to have dual cards and defeatable blur filter. but I would have bought the camera if it had neither.

I don't think people will be disappointed. However, focus speed can also be dependent on the lens.

An interesting observation. I'm not one to sit around and wait for a camera vendor to deliver a feature I want. So when I wanted faster focus I went out and got it from a different manufacture. And anytime I would mention how sweet that was, all I got was in replies was it doesn't matter, I get by fine and how more important other attributes of the camera are. But apparently the fast focus attribute is an important one after all.

Interesting that the video features, which have been significantly upgraded, and which was much criticized by reviewers of previous models, has not garnered many votes.
Might be a case of the specs look good, but the proof is in the pudding.
