Agreed, if this is what the camera is capable of, I'll still be using my K-5 for landscape. The K-3 will be a wildlife/action/ long lens camera. I just suspect I can get more out of the camera than that guy could.

Oof, those red roses have a terrible case of the pinks.

Overall, though, I think things are looking pretty good. Based on my knowledge of what my K-5 High-ISO NR usually looks like, and extrapolating from that, I think we'll be able to get pretty good detail out of raws, all the way up to 25600.

And Frank's sample shots from last week had pretty good reds, if I remember correctly.

Firmware 0.35. I'd say it's not correct to post and to show photos from non-serial camera.
It's test camera (semi-working, to say honest, with hanging and glitching) from Pentax Russia.

I don't think these look too bad. Iso 6400 does not look that great on the K5 either. Problem is that even if you clean up the noise, the dynamic range isn't great up there and the photos often look kind of flat and washed out.

Bingo.
We saw awful sample images with preproduction hardware and firmware at pretty much every product launch. Yes, also when the K-5 was announced.
There's a reason why people are asked not to post images made with preproduction cameras.

That tells me it's the same old Pentax JPEG engine. Happens every time with red roses and modern Pentax cameras. Only way you can hope to deal with it is to way underexpose.

I think he is made out of wax. I believe that is a wax figure of Gandalf the Grey.

I previously saw some comments that the k3 uses a quieter in body AF motor. This was wishful thinking as I am not sure how one could have that impression after seeing that video. It sounds like the the k3 uses the same old design. Disappointing that no progress has been made, in this regard as it is a wasted opportunity. It really looks like Pentax is short of engineering resources.

Must be something wrong with your ears. The K3 is much noisier, which is kind of disturbing since its supposed to be the most advanced camera.

The bearded man is actually made of wax. Look above his shirt. You can see and edge of the wax. And the color of the skin is the same anywhere. No small veins under the skin, no mini wrinkles. This thing is not happening in nature, not even to young peoples.

For pictures taken with a superzoom, and a preproduction unit ( they specify this), the resolution is OK.

The AF motor noise is a little desappointing. But let's wait. Maybe will sound better in the final.

Someone must have posted these already or at least pointed them out, but I don't think I've seen them on here:
