When is a camera too much camera?

As an amateur, I feel excited on 8ftps, 24mp, AF improvement & focus peaking of K3 for 1)taking photos for moving butterfly, bee ...; 2)macro photography.
If not taking photo for moving objects, I think K-01 can handle well in most situations!

The tracking AF of the K-3 will be particularly useful for my concert work, and I will love the cropability for wildlife. I could certainly evolve to use the video and tethering features. Definitely not too much camera, but I will still have a place for my K-01 and Q7.

All a camera really needs is shutter and aperture controls, and a means of framing and capturing the picture. Everything else: autofocus, autoexposure, various shooting modes, etc, etc, makes up for my deficiencies as a photographer. And boy, do I need all the help I can get!

Yes you can use AAs in the K-3, but only if you mount the grip. In the grip there's room for 6 AAs, which is what the camera requires to be powered. Pentax DSLRs that support AAs in-body can manage with only 4 AAs. However, since the K-7, flagship cameras couldn't get enough out of 4 AAs and have required 6 AAs, for which there is just not enough room in the camera body. Fortunately the grips have a separate insert that can take 6 AAs: it's either an insert with the standard battery and a separate slot for a spare SD card, or an insert for 6 AAs (without the slot for the spare SD card).
