Can the wifi sd card be used on K5iis or any other camera with SD card slot?

Just the K-3, as it's the only camera that has the built-in software needed to enable remote shooting and live view. But the K-5 IIs and just about any other camera for that matter does support eye-fi cards.

According to flucards website :::: Flucard pro :::: i'd say the Wi-Fi aspect would work as it says it'll transform any device with a sd card slot. The functions to control the actual camera settings however I think is k3 only.

Well when the fans asked for K3 dual card slots they didn't mean to sacrifice one for wifi lol! Pentax can be humorous at times. Well, at least it wasn't an external device that render the WR useless as in the case of Nikon AW1.

Back to the wifi card... seems that there are two schools of thought.

Not really sacrificing as the Flucard is a memory card, maybe sacrificing in terms of read write speeds and limited to 16GB... For now?

I don't think it could do remote control of settings, just sharing pictures or did I miss anything?

Yes it can control the camera. Watch in the video where you can see the iPad screen. Looks like four settings can be set remotely and you can fire the shutter.

Maybe you missed latest promotion viedeo by pentax, where card is used for shooting wirelessly and sharing images...? Because that is what it does with K-3.

You kidding me? Why would I buy a dedicated one for k3 if I could buy one that is universal?

To gain tethering? Card specially designed for pentax? There is maybe few points, but if you need only to move images wirelessly, then there is no point.

I'm sure it will be compliant with SD Memory Card Standard Ver.4.00 and Wireless LAN Standards (like IEEE802.11 b/g/n), and so work on anything. After all, I think the Flucard is made by Toshiba, who have a long-standing partnership with Flucard, and who make their own WiFi SDcards (FlashAir).

So it is likely that on my K-x or K-5 the Pentax K-3 Flucard will work as a normal Flucard Pro WiFi SD card.

The main difference between the Pentax 0-FC1 Flucard and a standard Flucard will probably be the K-3 specific apps to enable remote focusing etc via custom iIOS and Android apps... Hmm. I wonder if those apps will also work on my K-5 with a Flucard. Will be interesting to test.

And then the question; a wifi so small that could be house in a slimmest sd card, and it is not onboard? Strange.
