For those Questioning the 1/180 flash sync speed

for those of you wondering if a faster sync speed on the K-3 can be used? i'm happy to inform you, yes it can, at least that's the info i got from reading the Manual on page 88 under MEMO! if that info isn't correct, Don't blame me, blame Ricoh, they put it there!

I think you are misinterpreting. It simply says you can use one of the AF360 or 540 flashes for HSS. (The same as always). ?

I am simply going by what I read! best to wit till camera comes out I guess in this case, and we'll find out!

I agree with the way you interpreted the manual that flash will work at a high speed if you choose the speed.

Nothing new here. You can use a HSS capable P-TTL flash to shoot HSS.

Yep, nothing new. I can use faster than 1/180 with my K-7 when using HSS.

My point is/was for this Post: People were complaing that on the Prior Cameras they couldn't set a faster sync speed speed then 1/180 of a 2nd, on the K-3 you can, please reread page 88. Thanks, anyway!

That's because you're confused.
x-sync (1/180) is NOT THE SAME as HSS.
If you use studio strobes, you'd know what I mean...

sorry, i am not confused, page 88 tin the K-3 Manual talks about using hss sync speed faster then 1/180

I think most of the people who complain about the 1/180 limit are aware that HSS mode is the only solution to achieve faster shutter speed using flash with geniun Pentax flash or Metz.(at least, it's my own understanding after browsing this forum), not just K-3, as long as the camera body supports HSS.
They want to be able to do faster than 1/180 without HSS mode
you title might be misleading, but I cannot exclude the possiblity that some people who don't know HSS can break this limit.
However to the majority of the poeple who complain about the 1/180, they are right. K-3 cannot do faster than 1/180 without a flash gun that support HSS
To be honest, they even want to turn to the X mode and 1/180 is replaced by some higher shutter speed (1/250 in em-5?)
