I think they use the Sigma 70mm macro, I bet that lens still resolves very well at f/8.

EDIT: And in fact there IS moire in the AA0 sample and less in the AA1 and AA2 samples.

You have to go down to the last set of shots to find the AA filter test, and these are at f/5.6. I'm just now downloading them. They're the ones with file names ending AA0, AA1, and AA2.

There is less moire in AA1 and AA2 compared to AA0. But is there anything about the AA-filter settings in the EXIF-data?

Looks good. The AA filter is quite effective, without too much loss in resolution. Very clean with the AA turned off (apart from the deliberately provoked moiré). Interested to see how the AA effectiveness reduces as the exposure passes through 1/1000 sec.

It's under ShakeReduction. AA setting 1 has a value of Unknown (12). AA setting 2 has a value of Unknown (20).

I see more sharpness compared to the K-5 but not better high iso. In fact high iso is about on par with the nex-7. I think it must be the same chip.

From looking at the shots from K5iiS and K3 at ISO 800 with no noise reduction it appears that the K3 handles noise much better than the K5iiS. Either way, they beat the pants off my K7.

EDIT: and at ISO 3200

So does AA0 mean the AA filter is off? And what's the difference between AA1 and AA2?

Yes, AA0 is off. AA1 and AA2 are the two different blur settings; as you can see from the samples, AA2 is the stronger setting.

From Dave Etchell's very technical article on Ricoh's variable-AA filter, it seems that one mode is a linear oscillation, and the other (presumably the stronger) is a circular oscillation. Personally, I'm hoping there is an "AA bracketing" function for those frequent times when you just don't know whether there will be moiré visible in the shot!

I just read the whole Overview and this camera is going to be a game changer, I can't believe all the improvements from the K-5.
