Anyone going to wait?

When the K-5 was first released, it had a few problems. Is anyone going to sit back and wait until the dust settles before ordering the new K-3?

I want to order one right now.... I am trying to justify waiting... it will cost less to!

I'll be waiting for a while. I want to see the reviews first, especially of the AF.

I'm jammed up right now, the K-5 needs service but I'm moving in the next couple of months. Once the K-5 is happy again I will see how things stand, not because of first-copy bugs or any such.

i'm waiting until 2nd qtr 2014 at least unless the K3 autofocus improvements just BLOW me away.

I purchased a K5iis for black Friday last year to replace K20. It's doing fine except for high speed tracking situations like BIF or bears in woods.
I'm hoping 27 AF points bring this camera on par with Canikon for wildlife shooting. If so, next big vacation is end of April so will purchase for that trip.
If only minor improvements and still lot of misses,, the extra MP and other doo-dads won't entice me.
I need a camera that knows the difference between a darn wolf and a tree stump on center point focus.

I'm a trained marksman and I've joked wryly several times:
Be easier to shoot the damn critter with a rifle than take a picture of it cuz the camera can't (won't) shoot straight

Yep, I'm waiting until next Spring. For two reasons, one being lack of funds and the other being that as with the K5, it paid to wait for the bugs to get discovered and shook out. While I want the K3 badly, I don't have a need for it. I'm also going to need to upgrade my computer as my 10-year old machine is just not going to handle a 24mp camera.

I'm going to wait, both till the wrinkles are ironed out and order through my military exchange catalog. I get an excellent warranty for really cheap and they have to match the lowest price.
I love my K-5 and want to make sure the K-3 works as well.

I just bought an Alienware Aurora with 8 core i7 CPU, 32GB RAM and dual 760 GTX GPUS, jst for that purpose,,, well that and Crysis 3, Metro Last Night, Skyrim and Battlefield 4.

Maybe there will even be a FF next year, and then I'll have to make a real decision.

But to answer the thread topic, I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting. No doubt there will be issues, there always is with complex equipment. I would have waited, but I'm on deathwatch over my K-x, so it was either the K5ii or take a risk on the one I really wanted, the K-3. I chose the risk. Hopefully I chose wisely... or else get lucky.

Gonna wait a few months to see if there are any more interesting Ricoh/Pentax announcements by the time April-May rolls around. If nothing peaks my interest by then I will probably go for a K-3 which will hopefully be a bit less pricey by that time.
